Catholic Central is proud to announce that William Buskirk ‘27 has been selected as First Chair Euphonium for the prestigious Nicole Piunno All-Star Band at Western Michigan University.
Buskirk will represent Catholic Central at the 56th annual Spring Conference on Wind and Percussion Music, hosted by Western Michigan University’s Irving S. Gilmore School of Music on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The event brings together some of the top high school musicians from across Michigan.
The 120-member ensemble was formed through a competitive nomination process, with band directors from 49 high schools submitting students for consideration. Final selections were made by faculty from the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music.
The Nicole Piunno All-Star Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Miller Auditorium on Western Michigan University’s campus. The performance is open to the public, with tickets available for purchase online.
