Vince Lee ’53, Jim Gibbons ’68, and Fr. Dennis Noelke, CSB ’71 Recognized at Alumni Dinner

On Thursday, May 8, more than 200 alumni, faculty, and friends of Catholic Central gathered at St. Mary’s Cultural Center in Livonia for the 2025 Alumni Dinner. 

This year’s dinner honored three recipients of the Fr. Canning F. Harrison, CSB Distinguished Alumni Award: Vince Lee ’53, Jim Gibbons ’68, and Fr. Dennis Noelke, CSB ’71.

A longtime Basilian educator and former principal of Catholic Central, Fr. Harrison was known for his commitment to academic excellence and student formation. 

The award named in his honor recognizes alumni who exemplify those same values through their service, leadership, and support of Catholic Central.

Here’s a little more about the honorees:

Vince Lee ’53 is a real estate industry leader, U.S. Army veteran, and author, Vince has dedicated his life to business, financial literacy, and supporting Catholic Central. His family’s Shamrock legacy runs deep, spanning three generations.

Jim Gibbons ’68 is a lifelong educator, coach, and administrator, Jim has spent over 40 years shaping young minds. From coaching multiple sports to serving as a principal, athletic director, and MHSAA official, his dedication to education and athletics is unmatched. Today, he continues to give back as CC Athletic Hall of Fame Chairman and Archives Manager.

Fr. Dennis Noelke ’71 is a dedicated Basilian priest and educator, Fr. Noelke has spent over 40 years serving in Catholic education and ministry. From teaching and leading as principal at Catholic Central to his roles in university chaplaincy and Basilian leadership, he has made a profound impact on countless students and communities.
