Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra Earn 1s, Highest Rating, at MSBOA District Festival

The Detroit Catholic Central High School Symphony Band and String Orchestra competed in the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association's District Festival on March 9 at Thurston High School.

Symphony Band performed Randall D. Standridge's "Impact", E.E. Bagley/ed. Schissel's Emblem March, and Schubert's Ave Maria, earning straight I's from all three judges, in addition to sight reading. String Orchestra received an overall rating of I, performing a concerto grosso, suite for strings, and Richard Meyer's "Mantras".

"The process has been a combination of a learning opportunity and a great deal of fun," said Music Director Mr. Logan Bonathan '07. "The boys have really worked their hardest to practice the music and have advanced themselves as individual musicians and an ensemble."
