Students in Inter-Religious Dialogue Class Participate in Seder Meal

On Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, students in Mrs. Mary Catherine Costello's Ecumenism & Inter-Religious Dialogue class participated in a Seder meal in Mr. Carrier's Student Activities Room.

A Seder is a ceremonial meal traditionally observed during Passover, the Jewish holiday that commemorates the Israelites' liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt.

The word "Seder" means "order," referring to the structured sequence of prayers, readings, symbolic foods, and storytelling that guide participants through the experience.

During the gathering, students learned about the symbolism behind several traditional foods found on the Seder plate and the role each plays in telling the story of the Exodus.

The Seder is designed to be interactive, encouraging participants to ask questions and engage in discussion.

Through storytelling, shared food, and reflection, the tradition helps pass down important lessons from one generation to the next.
