Student Spotlight: Sebastian Patnaik 2030 Lands Opportunity with the Detroit Pistons

When Sebastian Patnaik 2030 was just 13 years old, he turned his lifelong love of art into his own graphic design business, Bash CLLXXN LLC. Less than a year later, his work caught the attention of the Detroit Pistons, leading to an opportunity to create designs for the organization during the playoffs.

We caught up with Sebastian to learn more about his creative journey, his growing business and his first few weeks at Catholic Central.

Q: How did you get interested in graphic design?

Sebastian: I’ve loved art since I was 3 years old. My dad’s love of fashion, comics, superheroes, and streetwear has always inspired me. I started by drawing my own superheroes and continued practicing. After kids at school began requesting custom pieces, I started selling my work and founded Bash CLLXXN LLC in November 2025, when I was 13.

Q: How did the Pistons opportunity happen?

Sebastian: My mom and I went to a Pistons game against the Suns, and I had just printed some new business cards. I started handing them out to employees on the floor. One of them was impressed by my work and made sure it reached the right people. That led to the Pistons contracting me to create designs for the team, their families, and staff for the playoffs. JD wearing tee

Q: What’s one of your favorite projects?

Sebastian: One of the most memorable collections is my Faith Collection. This collection brings together my faith, art, and streetwear through God and “FEAR NO EVIL.” I wanted the collection to be bold and have a powerful message.

Q: What’s your experience been like at Catholic Central so far?

Sebastian: I’ve really enjoyed my first few weeks at CC and getting to meet new people. Making the soccer team has been a dream. The teachers, academics, and environment have all been great, and I’m looking forward to my time here.

5. What are your goals for graphic design?

Sebastian: I want to keep growing Bash CLLXXN and hopefully work with more sports teams, athletes, and brands. I’m still figuring out where it will take me, but I’m excited to keep creating and see how far I can go. My work has constantly evolved, from creating an NFT project to doodle art to realism. I love challenging myself to keep improving.
