Shamrocks Celebrate Record-Breaking Signing Day

The Grand Hall in the Hall of Science was packed with energy as 36 Detroit Catholic Central student-athletes took the next step in their journeys, signing their commitments to play at the college level. With over 150 family members, friends, teammates, and coaches in attendance, the moment was both exciting and emotional.

"This was a record-breaking class," said Athletic Director Aaron Babicz '93. "By the time all is said and done, we'll have over 40 commits. It just shows how much these kids have poured into each other and how much the coaches and families have invested in them."

Among the signees were three Shamrocks committing as dual-sport athletes, proving that hard work and dedication go a long way.

At Catholic Central, the focus has always been on building strong foundations—faith, brotherhood, and personal growth. The success of this class is proof that when those things come first, great things follow.

"Our goal has always been to focus on our kids, our programs, and our people," Babicz said. "When we do that with faith and love, the results take care of themselves."

For these student-athletes, Signing Day was more than just putting pen to paper. It was the result of years of effort, sacrifice, and support from the Shamrock community. Now, they're off to new challenges, but wherever they go, they'll always be Shamrocks.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 signees—your CC family is cheering you on!
