Shamrock Shuffle Raises $21,643, Breaks $251,000 Total for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Catholic Central students once again laced up their running shoes for a great cause during this year’s Shamrock Shuffle, held Friday, October 3, 2025, ahead of the annual Boys’ Bowl assembly.

The charitable run/walk, organized by Catholic Central’s DECA Chapter, raised $21,643, bringing the school’s total donations over the years to more than $250,000 ($251,021.87) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

"I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to Tyson (Class of 2028) and the Washington Family for sharing their story and personal experience with Make-A-Wish. I would also like to thank the CC community for all the donations and support. It is truly inspiring to see how much we can impact the lives of those in need. Make-A-Wish is an incredible foundation, and we can’t wait to continue our partnership with them in the years to come," stated Cameron Swearingen '26.

This year marked the fundraiser’s most successful total to date, thanks to outstanding participation from every grade level.

Mr. Kevin Griffin’s freshman homeroom led the charge, raising $2,275 to take the top spot overall. Other grade-level winners included Mrs. Hodgins’ sophomores ($1,137), Mrs. Raskey’s juniors ($1,395), and Mr. Debbaudt’s seniors ($1,246).

An honorable mention goes to Mr. George’s homeroom, which raised an impressive $1,721, finishing second overall but second to Griffin’s class in the freshman division.

A special thank-you goes to Catholic Central’s DECA Chapter for coordinating the event, managing donations, and continuing the school’s proud tradition of giving back.
