Shamrock Shuffle and Boys' Bowl Assembly Kick Off the Weekend

Boys' Bowl Weekend got underway Friday, October 2, 2026, with the annual Shamrock Shuffle and the Boys' Bowl Assembly.

The morning started with the Shamrock Shuffle, as students and staff headed outside for the annual run and walk around campus. With cool fall weather and plenty of school spirit, students made their way around the course with their classmates before heading back inside for the day's assembly.

Students packed the Robert Santello '58 Gymnasium for the Boys' Bowl Assembly, which included a few familiar faces, plenty of laughs and a performance from the Catholic Central drum line.

Athletic Director Aaron Babicz '93 and Head Football Coach Justin Cessante '99 spoke to the student body, along with the football captains, as the team gets ready for Saturday's 82nd Annual Boys' Bowl against Toledo Central Catholic.

Students also took the opportunity to have some fun with the coaching staff. A video skit poking fun at Coach Cessante and Coach Joe Mach '02 had the gym laughing, while a tug-of-war competition gave students another chance to compete and cheer on their classmates.

The assembly also included the unveiling of this year's Boys' Bowl mural by our art students.

With Friday's activities wrapped up, the Shamrocks are ready for the main event. Catholic Central will host Toledo Central Catholic Saturday at Father Elmer Stadium for the 82nd Annual Boys' Bowl at 1 p.m.
