September Faculty/Staff Hammers of the Month: Aaron Rumberger 1992 and Donna Bolig

Each month, Principal Mitch Hancock 2000 recognizes two members of the Catholic Central faculty and staff as Hammers of the Month: individuals who represent the very best of Catholic Central through their reliability, work ethic, consistent presence, and commitment to serving our students, faculty, and staff.

On Sept.6th, Mr. Hancock recognized Mr. Aaron Rumberger 1992, Social Studies Department Chair, and Mrs. Donna Bolig, Main Office Secretary, as Hammers for the Month of September.

Mr. Aaron Rumberger 1992 — Social Studies Department Chair

Mr. Rumberger is currently in his 28th year at Catholic Central, making him the most tenured member of the teaching faculty. A longtime member and current Chair of the Social Studies Department, he teaches U.S. History and Geography and Psychology while also continuing to teach in Catholic Central’s summer school program.

“Aaron is as consistent, dependable, and involved as any faculty member in our building,” said Mr. Hancock. “After 28 years, he has an incredible understanding of the history, traditions, and culture of Catholic Central. More importantly, he continues to connect with our students and invest in their experience. He is someone our students and faculty know they can count on.”

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Rumberger organizes Catholic Central’s popular Intramural Football League (IFL) each fall, providing another opportunity for students to compete, connect, and enjoy the brotherhood of Catholic Central.

Mr. Rumberger is also a proud Shamrock parent. He and his wife, Jennifer, share two sons, Daniel ’20 and Jacob ’23, who are Catholic Central graduates.

Mrs. Donna Bolig — Main Office Secretary

Now in her 17th year at Catholic Central, Mrs. Bolig has become one of the most familiar and dependable faces at Catholic Central. As Main Office Secretary, Donna is often the first point of contact for parents, students, visitors, faculty, and staff, and her impact extends far beyond the responsibilities of her position.

“Donna is the glue that helps make Catholic Central an incredibly efficient school,” said Mr. Hancock. “Her daily touchpoints with parents, students, and teachers are countless. She also does an amazing job reinforcing respect, manners, and politeness with our Shamrocks. Her responsibilities have continued to grow over the years, and she has adapted while continuing to be a caring, motherly presence in our building.”

Donna's connection to Catholic Central extends to her family as well. She and her husband, Thomas, are the proud parents of four Shamrock graduates: Thomas ’08, Nicholas ’10, and twins Mitchell ’15 and Tyler ’15.

Together, Mr. Rumberger and Mrs. Bolig represent 45 years of service to Catholic Central. Their reliability, dedication, institutional knowledge, and genuine care for our young men make them outstanding examples of what it means to serve the Shamrock community.

Congratulations to our Faculty/Staff Hammers of the Month, Mr. Aaron Rumberger and Mrs. Donna Bolig.
