Rocks Vitae Club Assembles Birthing Kits For Mothers In Need

On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, the Rocks Vitae student organization met in the cafeteria after school to assemble birthing kits that will be sent to mothers in need.

“Our Rocks Vitae club has hosted this event assembling birth kits through Global Help Charities for three years and will continue to do so once or twice a year. The students were enthusiastic to stay after school to help mothers deliver their babies safely with these clean birth kits. The students received two service hours for helping assemble the birth kits in our school cafeteria,” stated Alana Bahoura, Theology Teacher and Rocks Vitae Club Moderator.

The kits are sent to women who often do not receive proper health care. Shamrocks partnered with students from St. Catherine of Siena Academy to assemble the kits.

The Rocks Vitae student organization is Catholic Central’s pro-life club, dedicated to helping students learn about the pro-life movement, abortion, and how to protect the unborn and mothers. They frequently attend pro-life marches, such as the ones in Washington D.C. and Lansing, and volunteer and participate in fundraising for crisis pregnancy centers.

“As a pro-life club, this event is a meaningful way for us to support both mothers and their babies, both in and outside the womb. We are committed to offering as much help as we can from our school community to those in need,” Alana shared.

All grade levels are welcome and encouraged to join the club. For more information about Rocks Vitae, please contact Alana Bahoura at abahoura@catholiccentral.net
