It was a busy first week back at Catholic Central as we officially kicked off the 2026–27 school year and welcomed all of our Shamrocks back to campus.

The week got started with freshman orientation on Friday, August 14, as the newest members of the Catholic Central community spent the day getting familiar with campus, meeting their classmates, and preparing for their first full day as Shamrocks.

On Monday, August 17, the entire student body returned for the first day of school. Students gathered in the gym for an opening assembly before getting into the routine of classes, homeroom, and the many activities that come with the start of a new school year.

Freshmen continued getting settled on Tuesday, August 18, with homeroom assemblies, while Wednesday, August 19, brought another full day of classes and the opportunity for students and teachers to settle into the school-year routine.

Thursday, August 20, was a chance to celebrate some of the accomplishments from last school year. Students gathered in the gymnasium for the Spring Sports Championship Assembly to recognize our state champions in lacrosse, golf, rugby, baseball, and fishing. 

We closed out the first week of school on Friday, August 21, with our first Mass of the school year, the Mass of the Holy Spirit, celebrated by Father John Huber, CSB, who was recently elected Superior General of the Congregation of St. Basil.

Friday evening will also bring our first Student Council Dance of the year, beginning at 7 p.m. in the gym.

It has been great to see the halls filled with students again and to get the 2026–27 school year underway officially. We are looking forward to a great year ahead!
