Pete Davis '95 Shares Insights on Business Leadership and Personal Growth

Detroit Catholic Central High School welcomed back alumnus Pete Davis '95, President & CEO of IMPACT Management Services, on Friday, March 17 as part of the school's DRIVE Development Day series. The series brings professional learning opportunities to students across grade levels to hone their leadership skills and gain real-world experience.

During his talk, titled "How the Best Get Better: Lessons I Learned in 25 Years of Being an Entrepreneur", Davis shared insights from his vast experience in business leadership, staff management, and entrepreneurship. He discussed the importance of continually striving for improvement and growth, and how to navigate challenges and setbacks along the way.

Davis discussed the concept of the "past-based self", which refers to the version of ourselves that is shaped by our past experiences and influences. He also talked about the "future-based self", which represents the person we aspire to become, and the "present-based self", which is the person we are in the present moment.

Davis also spoke about the importance of cultivating a no-entitlement attitude, understanding that everything in life is created and earned through hard work and determination. He encouraged students to take ownership of their lives and to not rely on others for their success.

He encouraged students to focus on their future-based selves, and to take steps towards becoming that person every day. He stressed the importance of setting goals and taking action towards achieving them, while also being mindful of the present moment and enjoying the journey.

IMPACT Management Services, founded by Davis in 2004, is a high-energy, premium staffing and professional search agency headquartered in Southfield, MI. The company has expanded beyond its Midwest origins to staff companies coast-to-coast, and is known for its quality over quantity mentality in recruiting, developing, and connecting qualified talent with an extensive network of clients.

Catholic Central is grateful for the continued support of alumni like Pete Davis, who give back to the community and inspire the next generation of leaders.

The Catholic Central DRIVE Development Day series brings professional learning opportunities to students across grade levels to hone their leadership skills and gain real-world experience. Students are encouraged to utilize Friday DRIVE Holidays to invest in their futures by participating in DRIVE Development Days. Opportunities vary each year, ranging from college visits to wealth management skills.
