Math Lab Available To Help Freshman and Sophomores During Homeroom

Freshman and sophomore students who may need extra help in math are encouraged to visit Mrs. Kristen Raskey’s Math Lab, held during freshman and sophomore homerooms.

“I proposed Math Lab about 10 years ago when I saw a need for freshmen and sophomores to get help during the school day because they can't always make it before or after school due to rides and activities. It is also helpful, at times, for students to have extra time to walk through problems in a more one-on-one fashion,” stated Mrs. Raskey.

Students who attend Math Lab are asked to sign in so they are credited with attending homeroom. Mrs. Raskey then asks students to present a copy of their school work so she can help them with any questions they have.

Last year alone, 97 students visited Math Lab. There were 332 first semester visits and 511 second semester visits for a total of 843 total visits for the year.

“Often, like today, a group of students will come in from the same class and I can help them all together and then they can work together to figure out some of the problems,” Mrs. Raskey stated.

Math Lab is open every day during freshman and sophomore homeroom for all students.
