Legacy Reunion Attracts Nearly 200 50 Year Graduates

On Thursday, June 6, 2024, Catholic Central High School hosted its annual Legacy Reunion for graduates 50 years or more removed.

Nearly 200 Shamrocks attended the event, which included Mass in the Chapel at 11 a.m., followed by a buffet-style lunch served in the cafeteria afterward.

Attendees included a wide variety of graduating class years dating back to Jerry Stocking ‘43, aged 98, to graduates of the class of 1974, aged 68.

Many graduates brought their families and loved ones along as they enjoyed a special Mass held for them by Fr. John Wheeler, CSB ‘57 and Fr. Bob Schikora ‘66.

After Mass, graduates were provided with a school update from President Ed Turek ‘85. Dan Collins ‘84, Director of Advancement, presented a trophy award for the St. Basil Legacy Society to Ronald Ross ‘59.

The St. Basil Legacy Society recognizes alumni who make a planned or deferred gift to Catholic Central to create a legacy that lasts in perpetuity to help students.

For more information about the St. Basil Legacy Society, or to make a planned gift, please see our Ways to Give | Detroit Catholic Central High School page.
