Lacrosse And Hockey Programs Team Up To Give Back This Christmas

The Lacrosse and Hockey programs at Catholic Central High School have teamed up to support two important organizations this Christmas: The Sanctum House and the Michigan Animal Rescue League (MARL).

The Sanctum House is a voluntary, two-year program for women over 18 who are victims of human trafficking. The program currently houses over two dozen women, providing trauma-informed healthcare and individualized resources in a safe and secure environment to help survivors build a better future.

A human trafficking survivor from Sanctum House visited Catholic Central on October 23 to talk to students in Mr. Dave Wilson’s Contemporary Social Issues class. Mr. Wilson is also the Head Coach for CC’s Lacrosse team.

Examples of items on the Sanctum House wish list include:

  • Coffee

  • Paper towels, trash bags, and toilet paper
