Keynote Speaker Keyon Clinton Talks Becoming 1% Better Everyday

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, guest speaker Keyon Clinton spoke to students during homeroom about the importance of leveraging yourself to become 1% better every day.

“Physically, mentally, professionally, you have to give 1% back every day. How do you reach your goals? Big goals are just little goals. But to reach your goal, you have to start and then you have to stay consistent. Give 1% back every day in every aspect of your life,” Clinton stated.

During his presentation, Clinton reminded students they have a great opportunity here at Catholic Central, and that the decisions they make now will impact their future, encouraging them to choose wisely.

Some of Clinton’s key takeaway messages included, “You have to learn before you earn; ‘No’ means next opportunity, using negative situations as an opportunity to create a better future for yourself, and building relationships to build true wealth.”

Clinton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Electrical Engineering. He owns his own business, 1% Better, and is also an Author, International Speaker, Execution Coach, Award-Winning Bodybuilder, founder of the 1% Better University, and a self-proclaimed servant of the Lord.

Clinton was recently awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and has been named the 2018 and 2019 recipient of The Top Millennials in Detroit and has been featured on segments with Forbes, Speakers Magazine, Channel 4 WDIV Detroit News, Ford Field, Fox 2 Detroit news, Michigan State University, WKAR Radio Station, and other well-known publications.

He’s the CEO of Forget About Me, I Love You! (F.A.M.I.L.Y), a non-profit organization focusing on human development and serves as the Millennial Director of The Fair Consulting Group, a U.S.-based Speaking and Training firm. Prior to these accomplishments, he has held numerous leadership positions for various Fortune 500 companies.

“As an international speaker, I loved the energy at Catholic Central. The students were attentive, and I loved that they came up and asked me questions afterwards. It was a pleasure to give them the tools I know they can apply daily,” he stated.
