Principal Father Fulton, CSB, announced Jeremiah Furtado ’26 as the recipient of the 2026 Ranalletti Award on Thursday, April 30, following a special send-off breakfast honoring the senior class as they prepare for graduation.

The Fr. Richard A. Ranalletti Award for outstanding Christian character was established in 2016 to honor Father Richard Ranalletti, CSB, the 18th principal and second president of Catholic Central. The award is presented annually at graduation to a senior who exemplifies Christian character and values throughout his time at Catholic Central. Recipients are nominated by their peers.

Selection criteria include fostering Christian values, demonstrating respect and patience in interactions with others, exhibiting self-discipline in words and actions, and showing a willingness to serve both the school community and the greater metropolitan Detroit area. Additional qualities include compassion, responsible decision-making, and serving as a positive example of Christian behavior among peers.

Furtado has accumulated nearly 200 hours of community service during his time at Catholic Central. He has served as a Kairos leader and has been actively involved in school liturgies over the past several years.

Jeremiah Furtado is the 11th recipient of the Ranalletti Award.
