HOSA Donates $3,600 in Toys and Books to Henry Ford Providence

On Monday, November 24, 2025, HOSA donated $3,600 worth of toys, books, and funds raised during a recent school spirit day to Henry Ford Providence Hospital’s Annual Christmas Store Event.

For this event, the hospital adopted nearly 1,200 children from community agencies to receive gifts, including clothing, toys, books, candy, crafts, and stuffed animals. Each family also received a gift card for groceries.

“When this came up as a possible service project, the HOSA officers were extremely excited to participate. They went to the store and personally picked out stuffed animals and books that they thought the kids would love. We are so happy that we were able to partner with Henry Ford Providence Hospital to make Christmas a little brighter for so many families,” said HOSA Co-Club Moderator, Caitlin O’Connell.

HOSA Senior Officers Winston Dietz ’26, Jeremiah Furtado ’26, Brendan McSweeny ’26, Rene Salinas Carrillo ’26, and James Wigton ’26, along with Club Moderators Caitlin O’Connell and Kelly Kolchuk, delivered the donations on Monday afternoon to Kathy Zaguroli, Manager of Volunteer Services, and event co-chairs Sarah Authier and Suzette Krebson, just ahead of the Esports Assembly Match.

“We are thrilled to have such a wonderful partnership with Catholic Central students and faculty.  Their generosity of service and giving is well beyond anything that we expected,” said Kathy Zaguroli.
