Henry Theriault-Bevins ‘25 Wins Wimmer Scholarship From St. Vincent

Henry Theriault-Bevins ‘25 is finishing up his senior year in a big way. He has been awarded the first-place finisher in St. Vincent College’s 44th Annual Wimmer Scholarship Competition.

"I love my time at CC and am thrilled to study engineering at SVC, whose culture closely matches. This scholarship places me in a great position to be fully involved on campus as I am at CC," Henry stated.

The scholarship competition gives out five scholarships totaling more than $879,000. As the first-place finisher, Henry was awarded a four-year, full-tuition, room, and board scholarship valued at more than $223,000.

This year’s scholarship competition had 66 entrants with an exam that was conducted this past December. Four other students were awarded four-year, full-tuition scholarships, each valued at over $164,000.

Henry is from Milford, Michigan, and is deeply involved in both his church and school community. At St. Patrick Parish, he serves as an altar server captain and an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion. He is a dedicated student at Detroit Central Catholic High School, where he has received the Gabriel Richard (highest academic honors) for the past 2.5 years and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Henry is also an accomplished musician. He serves as the first-chair trombone in the school band and participates on the Esports team and intramural debate. He has logged nearly 300 hours of community service over the past four years. Additionally, Henry holds a first black belt in Tang Soo Do and participates in various school activities, including the Monogram Club and the Rocks Vitae group.

Outside of academics and extracurriculars, Henry enjoys baking, Xbox gaming, music, reading, SCUBA diving, and traveling. He plans to major in engineering at St. Vincent College.
