Four Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Catholic Central High School is proud to announce that four members of the Class of 2027 have been named National Merit Semifinalists.

The honorees are:

  • Will Abbott ’27, Northville Christian School
  • Saathvik Koneru ’27, Novi Middle School
  • Martin Sanin ’27, Ivywood Classical Academy
  • Brady Shih ’27, Novi Middle School

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes some of the nation's most academically talented high school students. More than 16,000 students nationwide have been named Semifinalists in the 2027 competition, representing less than 1% of U.S. high school graduating seniors. Semifinalists are among the highest-scoring entrants in each state based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Semifinalists now have the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24 million.

Since 2010, Catholic Central has had more than 100 National Merit Semifinalist students.

Congratulations to Will, Saathvik, Martin, and Brady on this outstanding academic achievement!
