On Saturday, May 30, 2026, the CC Fishing Team won its first State Championship competition in school history.
Anthony Oliver '28 and Donnie Periard '28 finished with 20.86 lbs. to win the TBF-SAF (The Bass Federation-Student Angler Federation) Michigan High School State Championship on Lake Charlevoix. They will have a chance at a second state championship at the Michigan Bass Nation Tournament in August. They will also compete at both the 2026 SAF and Bassmaster National Tournaments and have qualified for the 2027 SAF National Tournament.
Additionally, Andrew Ryner '28 and his teammate from Everest Collegiate, Charlie Schmitt, won their Michigan Youth Bass Fishing Association Tournament on Lake Charlevoix on Sunday, May 31, with 22.36 lbs.
The teams are coached by Paul Miner '86 and his son, Jack '25.
