Finance Club Visits Invio Automation And Apothecary Coffee

*Written by Hayden Sawka '25, a member of the Media and Finance Clubs.

On Wednesday, November 29, Detroit Catholic Central Finance Club members and co-moderator Mr. Griffin ’96 visited Invio Automation and Apothecary Coffee.

Their day was split into three parts. Students were given a factory tour of the Invio plant in New Baltimore, Michigan. Next, they were given a presentation about accounting, budgeting, and finance at Invio. Finally, on their bus ride back to CC, Finance Club members stopped at Apothecary Coffee in Farmington Hills, Michigan, where they met with owner Micky Williams ’15. Mr. Williams talked them through his entrepreneurial experience of opening the coffee shop and also discussed business strategies and vision for the future of the business.

Junior and Finance Club board member Christian Bakkal said, “Things like this trip not only help me make connections but also help me gain knowledge and tips for my career path later in life. I truly believe that trips and opportunities like this set CC apart.” This is a true testament to the opportunities created by the Finance Club, which now also boasts an investment portfolio of over $230,000!
