On Monday, April 27, 2026, Catholic Central held a special blessing ceremony for a newly created baptismal font in the school Chapel, led by Father Fulton.

The font, which will play an important role in the school’s upcoming liturgical celebrations, was created by Nick Schrameck ’26 and Van Smedley ’26 as part of Mrs. Julia Ribits’ art class. Their work reflects both creativity and perseverance, as the students completed the piece on their third attempt.

Members of Mrs. Ribits’ art class were present for the blessing, along with several students participating in OCIA. During the blessing, Father Fulton offered a special prayer over the font, marking its readiness for use.

The baptismal font will be used at Catholic Central’s OCIA Mass of Welcome on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. During this celebration, 31 students will be baptized and formally welcomed into the Catholic Faith in front of friends, family, and members of the Catholic Central community.
