Engineering Club Participates in Egg Drop Challenge

On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Catholic Central’s Engineering Club held an egg drop challenge in the Grand Hall.

Club members were tasked with designing and building packages to protect real eggs dropped from the second-floor balcony. Using principles of physics shared by club leaders, students discovered that slowing the impact and adding cushioning were key to keeping their eggs intact.

Students got creative with everyday household materials, including marshmallows, cotton balls, drinking straws, popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and plenty of glue. The challenge offered a fun, hands-on way to test problem-solving skills, teamwork, and ingenuity.
