Catholic Central students continue to take full advantage of their Fridays off. On Friday, April 11, 2025, two workshops were offered as part of the DRIVE Development Day series, with strong student participation in both.
Students had the opportunity to choose between two valuable sessions.
The first workshop, Professional Communications, was hosted by the Detroit Economic Club. Nearly 50 students attended and explored the importance of communication in both personal and professional settings. Participants learned how to use key “communication puzzle pieces” to reach their goals, build their personal brand, and understand the difference between simply hearing and truly listening.
Meanwhile, more than 30 students participated in the Heartsaver CPR Course led by Nurse Laura Helm. This free course covered adult, child, and infant CPR, first aid, and AED training.
Upon completion, students received a two-year certification from the American Heart Association. The class was open to both first-time participants and students looking to renew their certification.
Students currently enrolled in a second-semester health class who were unable to attend the CPR workshop will have an opportunity to earn their certification during class this spring.
