Drama Club Performs "The Nerd"

Drama Club presented its production of Larry Shue’s outrageous comedy, The Nerd, in celebration of Fine Arts Week April 28 and April 29.

The play follows aspiring midwestern architect Willum Cubbert, whose life was saved in Vietnam by Rick Steadman, a man he’s never actually seen in person. However, over the years, he and Rick have shared correspondences, and
Willum has promised to do anything for Rick. One day, much to Willum’s eventual dismay (and the audience’s delight), Rick calls in that favor.

Cast members included Adam Abdelsayed '24 (in his third show at CC), Augustine Cabello '24
(making his CC debut), Braden Kendall '25 (in his second show at CC), and Caleb Adam '25 (making his
CC debut).

The Drama Club at Detroit Catholic Central provides students an outlet for their creative and performance appetites. The club meets regularly during the school year, attends field trips to performances at local colleges and other high schools, and stages a production every year as part of CC's annual Fine Arts Festival.
