Director of Security Discusses Homicide Investigation with Students

On Friday, January 30, 2026, Catholic Central’s Director of Security, Al DiPrima, visited Mr. Dave Wilson '88's Contemporary Social Issues class as a guest speaker.

DiPrima, a retired Redford Township police captain, presented students with an overview of a homicide investigation, outlining the steps involved from the initial response to the review of evidence. The presentation focused on standard investigative procedures and the responsibilities of law enforcement during a major case.

This was DiPrima’s second visit to Mr. Wilson’s class this school year. In October 2025, he previously spoke with students about the police force and careers in law enforcement.

“I truly enjoy any time I have an opportunity to engage the young men here at CC. While it is important for me to keep the institutional knowledge of the criminal justice field alive, it is more important for me to pass on the dangers of trauma in this world," DiPrima stated.

"I saw a lot of carnage I wish I never saw, but that carnage made me the man I am today. For the longest time, I never told anyone the paralysis that these traumas took on my emotions, my life and my relationships. I am grateful for the special people in my life that allowed me to see the light and to put my mental health at the top of my priority list,” he continued.

"I want the men of CC to normalize talking about their emotions and mental health and I would be honored to help guide them down this path of clarity," he concluded.
