Dallas Fischer ’21 Visits Engineering Class

On Monday, October 27, 2025, Dallas Fischer ’21 returned to speak with students in Mrs. Rebecca Mulrooney’s Engineering class, sharing his journey from the halls of CC to a career path in electrical and power systems engineering.

During his time at CC, Fischer was involved in Swim & Dive, Band, Football, and the Monogram Club. He went on to earn a B.S. in Engineering with an Electrical concentration from Hope College, where he participated in Swim & Dive, Hope Catholics, and the Green Team. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems at the University of Colorado Boulder.

During his presentation, titled “Careers in Power Systems,” Fischer introduced students to the world of renewable energy, power generation, and electrical systems design. He discussed his internships and projects, offering a firsthand look at how classroom concepts translate into real-world engineering challenges.

Fischer also shared practical advice for students interested in pursuing engineering, encouraging them to find the right program, the right school size, and a supportive community. His message emphasized that success in engineering comes from balancing technical skills with curiosity, persistence, and community engagement.

Students had the opportunity to ask questions about his college experiences, internship opportunities, and future goals in renewable energy systems. Fischer closed his talk by reminding students that their interests and experiences at Catholic Central can open doors to impactful careers.
