CC’s First Annual Brother’s Day Celebrates Great Success

On Friday, August 23, 2024, Catholic Central held its first annual Brother’s Day where more than 70 current students hosted their 7th or 8th grade brothers for a group “Shadow Day.”

Several siblings took part in the daily morning Mass in the school Chapel before meeting in the main gymnasium, where siblings were greeted by the Admissions team and given a swag bag complete with a CC backpack, shirt, and ID badge.

While current students headed to their first class the younger brothers took a building tour - including the new Hall of Science - before settling in the Learning Commons. They then paired up with their older brother and headed to class for the rest of the day.

The day ended with a group competition of Rock, Paper, Scissors, a discussion about the day and application process, and some simple down time for the younger brothers. Finally, the group photo wrapped everything up with a smile.

The day was a nice warmup for the “regular” Shadow season, which starts September 10. The Admissions Office expects to host more than 350 other 7th and 8th grade students over the course of the year. Families interested in scheduling a visit should visit the admissions website and submit a Potential Student Information form to get started.

We look forward to making Brother’s Day an annual event, and appreciate those families who participated in this first one!
