Catholic Central Welcomes Ray Robinson, Jr. and Jacob Petro ’19 to Admissions Team

Catholic Central is excited to welcome Ray Robinson, Jr. and Jacob Petro ’19 as the newest members of our Admissions Department.

Ray and Jacob join a team that includes Kelly McSweeney, Faye Maddox, and Director Jake Marmul ’07, helping guide prospective students and families through the enrollment process.

They will also play an active role in our Jr. Shamrock program, which gives students in grades K-8 the chance to engage with the CC Community.

Jacob Petro ’19

Jake wanted to give back to the school that helped shape his journey. “I’m excited to welcome families and students into our community and help guide the next generation of Shamrocks,” he said.

After graduating in 2019, Jake played lacrosse at Detroit Mercy before transferring to Michigan State University, where he served as Vice President of Club Lacrosse and earned a Bachelor of Science in Advertising Management. He then worked as a project manager for Hatteras, a mass media print company in Plymouth, Michigan.

In his new role, Jake is most looking forward to making the enrollment process smooth and exciting for students. He will also serve as an assistant coach for the JV White lacrosse this spring. Outside of work, Jacob enjoys spending time with friends (many of whom are CC alumni), golfing, working out, and cheering on the Spartans and Lions.

“I couldn’t be happier to be back at Catholic Central,” Jacob said. “I’m excited to help grow this amazing community. Go Shamrocks!”

Ray Robinson, Jr.

Ray first joined Catholic Central in March as a freshman football coach for defensive backs and receivers. “Being part of the football program showed me the true brotherhood of Catholic Central and the love and support poured into our students,” he said.

Originally from Jackson, Michigan, Ray played football at Central State University before transferring to Albion College, where he also competed in track and field. He earned a B.A. in Psychology with minors in Kinesiology and Communications. His athletic accomplishments include a 2015 MIAA Football Conference Championship, 2016 MIAA Defensive Player of the Month, 2017 MIAA Javelin Championship, 2017 MIAA All-Region honors in track, and 2018 All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Ray also worked in the Admissions Office at Albion, giving him valuable insight into the process students experience when applying to Catholic Central. In his new role, he’s most looking forward to supporting incoming Shamrocks and watching them grow into young men.

Outside of work, Ray enjoys training at the gym, playing golf and softball, and pursuing creative projects in art, music, and fitness content creation.

We’re thrilled to have Ray and Jacob on the Admissions Team, helping welcome the next generation of Shamrocks into our community.
