Catholic Central Students Prepare And Donate 8 Trays of Lasagna To Local Families In Need

On Friday, May 2, 2025, Catholic Central students turned their morning off into a meaningful act of service during a special DRIVE Development Day.

Partnering with the global nonprofit Lasagna Love, students rolled up their sleeves and prepared eight trays of homemade lasagna for local families in need.

The event was organized by staff member Jennifer Recchione, who coordinated with Lasagna Love, an international nonprofit that connects volunteers with neighbors who could benefit from a home-cooked meal.

The organization’s mission is to spread kindness, one lasagna dish at a time. Volunteers, also known as “lasagna chefs,” offer home-cooked meals as a way to support and uplift others during challenging times.

In under 30 minutes, the students whipped up all eight trays of lasagna. Afterward, they had a chance to sample the fruits of their labor and enjoy lasagna for breakfast!

Catholic Central extends a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Recchione and our student volunteers for their compassion, teamwork, and commitment to service, and for reminding us that small acts of kindness, like a warm, homemade meal, can make a big difference.
