Catholic Central Remembers Fr. Dennis Kauffman, CSB

The news of the passing of Fr. Dennis Kauffman, CSB came as a shock to the entire Catholic Central community. Known for being at almost every Catholic Central event, Fr. Kauffman touched the lives of so many and was a true believer in the school's mission. 

Ordained in 1979, Fr. Dennis J. Kauffman is a native of Rochester, NY, where he graduated from The Aquinas Institute, a Basilian high school. He earned a Master of Divinity from the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto and a Master's in High School Administration from Indiana University.

Throughout his career, Fr. Kauffman has served in various roles within Basilian schools, including campus minister, teacher, guidance counselor, and administrator in Merrillville, IN; Albuquerque, NM; and Rochester, NY. From 2000 to 2007, he was the Basilian Director of Vocations. Since 2007, he has held the position of Director of School Improvement at CC.

Fr. Kauffman was appointed to the CC Board in 2012. He also served as the Dads’ Club Moderator.

Two Dozen CC Alumni Mentor AP Government Students at Annual Law Day

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, senior students from Catholic Central’s AP Government class participated in the annual Detroit CC Alumni Law Day. Hosted by nearly two dozen CC alumni, the event took place at both the Wayne County Criminal Justice Center in the courtroom of Judge Paul Cusick '99 and at the Theodore Levin United States Courthouse in the courtroom of Judge Sean Cox '75.
