On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Catholic Central held a schoolwide assembly to recognize the football team’s MHSAA D1 State Championship title.
The Shamrocks earned the championship on Sunday, November 30, 2025, with a 42–19 win over Cass Tech at Ford Field. This marks the program’s first state title since 2009.
During the assembly, Coach Justin Cessante ‘99 thanked the community and his family for their support this year.
The event also included the official raising of the 2025 State Championship banner, giving students and staff a chance to acknowledge the team’s hard work and accomplishment.
To celebrate the championship win, Coach Justin Cessante ’99 will serve as the Special Guest Speaker at the CC First Friday Mass & Luncheon on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Time: Mass begins at 12:00 p.m., with a buffet lunch immediately following.
