Catholic Central Hosts Second Annual 7th Grade Experience Day

Catholic Central hosted its second annual 7th Grade Experience Day on Friday, April 17, 2026, welcoming 150 prospective students and 250 parents to campus for a firsthand look at what it means to be a Shamrock.

The morning began with coffee and a light breakfast, giving families a chance to settle in and connect before heading to the main gym for a brief welcome. From there, students were split into small groups and rotated through a series of sessions that highlighted different areas of student life at CC, including athletics, aviation, business, campus ministry, fine arts, and student activities.

Rather than a formal presentation, the student portion of the day was designed to be interactive and easygoing. Groups moved through the building at a steady pace, getting a feel for the campus while meeting teachers and learning more about the opportunities available to them.

At the same time, parents participated in an Admissions 101 session that covered everything from academics and graduation requirements to daily life at Catholic Central and the application process. Campus tours followed, along with a parent panel that gave families the chance to hear directly from current CC parents and ask questions.

One of the standout parts of the day was the involvement of current students. Nearly 100 Shamrocks volunteered to serve as group leaders and tour guides, helping visitors navigate the building and offering their own perspective on student life. Families also got to see the school in action, with activities like Quiz Bowl and volleyball practice taking place during the visit.

Now in its second year, 7th Grade Experience Day has replaced the traditional spring open house, offering a more relaxed and personal way for families to experience Catholic Central.
