Catholic Central celebrated the start of the fall sports season Wednesday, Aug. 26, with our annual Fall Sports Assembly, recognizing the cross country, tennis, soccer and football teams.

Cross country captains spoke on behalf of Head Coach Tony Magni, introducing the team and sharing an update on the season so far. 

Tennis Head Coach Robbie Risdon followed by introducing her players, talking about the season and highlighting the team's strong start. The varsity tennis team is currently 5-0.

Soccer captains represented Head Coach Gene Pulice, introducing the team and discussing the season ahead. The varsity soccer team is currently 1-0 and hopes to continue its streak. 

The assembly concluded with Head Football Coach Justin Cessante 1999, who introduced the 2026 Shamrocks and spoke about the upcoming season. Cessante encouraged the Catholic Central community to come out and support the team Thursday as the Shamrocks open the season against Chippewa Valley.

The football team then wrapped up the assembly with a hype video that got the student body fired up for the season and the team's goal of defending its Division 1 state championship.

The Shamrocks take on Chippewa Valley at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at Wayne State University.
