Catholic Central’s George and Mary Turek Hall of Science is officially open and ready for student and community use. Approximately 2,500 people attended as the school held a dedication on Sunday, August 11, 2024, featuring a blessing, ribbon cutting ceremony, and open house.
Attendees were seated in the parking lot outside the Hall of Science Building where a flyover was held before guest speakers George Turek ‘66 and former US Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell addressed the audience.
The Hall of Science is named after the parents of George Turek ‘66, an alumnus whose generous donations to the school made the dedication possible. Thanks to Turek and other donors, tuition for Catholic Central will not be affected, despite the exciting new upgrades.
After the blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees came inside to tour the building, enjoy refreshments, meet with faculty and staff, and learn about the admissions process.
"The dedication of the George and Mary Turek Hall of Science was an incredible day filled with more love than we could have ever imagined. We’re so thankful to all our donors, especially the incredible generosity of George Turek '66 for believing in the mission of Catholic Central. We’d also like to thank our guest speaker Marcus Luttrell. The Hall of Science represents our commitment to providing students with the best possible education. This building will inspire generations of students to explore, innovate, and achieve their dreams, all while being grounded in the values that define our institution," stated Ed Turek '85, President of Catholic Central.
