Catholic Central Celebrates Start of Winter Sports Season

Catholic Central kicked off the winter sports season with a schoolwide assembly this afternoon, Friday, December 5, 2025, bringing the community together to recognize our student-athletes and the teams representing the Shamrocks this winter.

The assembly highlighted several winter programs, including Basketball, Bowling, Hockey, Swimming & Diving, Bordercross, and Skiing. Team captains and coaches shared reflections on their previous seasons, updates on the current season, and introduced their rosters to the school.

Winter athletics are already underway, with a live Esports assembly match held on November 25 and the annual Wrestling Assembly Match held on December 4. All teams are off to a strong start, and the Shamrock community looks forward to a competitive season ahead.

Today’s Spirit Day also raised over $3,300 for Corewell Children’s Health. At the conclusion of the assembly, Student Activities revealed the DRIVE theme for 2026:

  • Seniors - Big 10
  • Juniors - SEC
  • Sophomores - ACC
  • Freshman - XII

Best of luck to our winter sports teams this year!
