Catholic Central students, faculty and staff gathered in the gym Thursday afternoon, August 20, to celebrate the success of our spring sports teams and recognize the Shamrocks who brought home state championships last school year.

The Spring Sports Championship Assembly honored Catholic Central’s state championship teams in lacrosse, golf, rugby, baseball and fishing.

Athletic Director Aaron Babicz 1993 and Principal Mitch Hancock 2000 addressed the student body and spoke about the success of Catholic Central athletics and the work that goes into building championship teams. 

The assembly began with a celebration of the fishing team and student-athletes Donnie Periard 2028 and Anthony Oliver 2028. Led by Paul Miner 1986 and his son, Jack Miner 2025, the Catholic Central fishing program won two state championships in 2026.

Students also heard from Head Baseball Coach Ryan Rogowski 2002, Head Lacrosse Coach Dave Wilson 1988, and rugby captain Caden Krueger 2027, who reflected on their championship seasons and the experiences that helped their teams reach the top.
