Catholic Central Celebrates Record-Breaking Spring Signing Day

April 30, 2025 — Detroit Catholic Central held its Spring Signing Day ceremony today, honoring 16 senior student-athletes who signed to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level — the most the school has ever had in a single spring signing event.

The ceremony took place in the George and Mary Turek Hall of Science, where families, coaches, and classmates gathered to recognize the students’ accomplishments.

Athletes from a variety of sports were represented, including wrestling, esports, baseball, rugby, golf, volleyball, hockey, and track and field.

“This is the largest group we’ve ever had for a spring signing,” said Athletic Director Aaron Babicz ’93. “It’s a reflection of the work these young men have put in over the last four years, both in the classroom and in competition.”

Mr. Babicz introduced each student, their sport, and the college they are attending. Students then posed with family for photos with their future college gear.
