Catholic Central Celebrates Catholic Schools Week With All-School Mass

On Monday, January 27, 2025, Catholic Central High School gathered for a special all-school Mass in honor of Catholic Schools Week. 

Mass was led by Bishop Ronald Peter Fabbro, CSB, longtime friend and Basilian classmate of Father Dennis Noelke, CSB ‘71. Six Basilians were in attendance, including Father Patrick Fulton, CSB, Father John Wheeler, CSB ‘57, Father Robert Moslosky, CSB, Father James O’Neil, CSB, Father Dennis Noelke, CSB ‘71, and Father Walter Wherbylo, CSB.

After Mass, Bishop Fabbro gathered with Order of Christian Initiation of Teens (OCIT) students in the Chapel for a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity. He also had the chance to reconnect with Father Noelke and was given a tour of the school.

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, Catholic Central High School hosted its Incoming Scholarship Award Night to honor 60 students from the incoming class of 2029 who received either an Academic or Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge scholarship.

Justin Lurz ‘25 and Raymond Laskey ‘25 achieved remarkable success in the Fall Qualifier for the 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) U.S. Championship, a prestigious competition testing students' proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with Justin placing 5th in Michigan in Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365 Apps) and Raymond securing 6th in the same category.

Career Speaker Series Week Two: Exploring Careers in Broadcasting and Aviation

Catholic Central’s Career Speaker series continued this week! On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Evan Stockton ‘14 discussed his career as a college and professional sports broadcaster. Then, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, students heard from Lt. Col. Karl Vogelheim ‘85 of the Michigan Air National Guard about his career in aviation.
