On Monday, March 9, 2026, Catholic Central held an all-school assembly to celebrate the Varsity Hockey team’s seventh consecutive MHSAA Division 1 State Championship.

The Shamrocks secured the title on March 7 with a 6–0 victory over Northville at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth. Catholic Central controlled the game from the opening puck drop, outshooting the Mustangs 47–15 to claim the program’s 24th state championship.

Eight of those titles have come under the leadership of Head Varsity Hockey Coach Brandon Kaleniecki ’00.

During the assembly, Coach Kaleniecki and the senior captains congratulated the team and thanked the coaches and community for their support.
