Catholic Central Celebrates 2026 Catholic Schools Week With All-School Mass

On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Catholic Central honored Catholic Schools Week by holding an all-school Mass, led by Father Patrick Fulton, CSB.

National Catholic Schools Week is presented by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and runs from Sunday, January 25 through Saturday, January 31, 2026.

This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.” The purpose of this week is to express gratitude and recognition for teachers, parents, staff, and volunteers who support Catholic schools.

During his homily, Father Fulton stated, “That’s why we celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Because what we have is a great gift. The whole purpose of Catholic schools is to be subversive. To be sneaky. And the project is to change you, to transform you without you even knowing it. We are engaged in a project of transformation, turning you into a beautiful creature of Christ. What we have in Catholic schools is a project not just to educate your mind and your body, but also your soul. That's why it’s so appropriate that we have this gospel today about the seed sown on different kinds of ground. What is your ground?” ”

He continued, “If you don’t cultivate the ground that you’re sewing, it’s all for naught. You’re here first and foremost, adults and students alike, because God knew that you needed CC and CC needed you.”

“The glory of our school life together, which we celebrate during Catholic Schools Week, is not the bricks and mortar and shiny toys that we have and all the banners we have up there. First and foremost, like any home, the best part of CC are the people housed inside here. May God continue to grow you in Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge.”
