Catholic Central Band Earns First-Ever First Division Rating at MSBOA Festival

The Catholic Central Band reached an exciting milestone Saturday night, March 7, 2026, at the MSBOA Band Festival at Woodhaven High School, earning straight First Division ratings with all A scores from the judges.

Band Director Alex Toth ’17 said the students shared that it was the first time the group has ever received a First Division rating at the festival, making the accomplishment especially meaningful.

The recognition marks a major step forward for the program. At last year’s festival, the band received a mix of Second and Third Division ratings (Bs and Cs). Since then, the student musicians have worked diligently to improve their performance and raise their standard of excellence.

Their hard work paid off at this year’s festival, where the band impressed judges across the board and earned the highest possible ratings.

Congratulations to the Catholic Central Band on this outstanding achievement.
