Build a Better Business Club Explores AI Literacy with Chris Okoye ’14

Members of Catholic Central’s Build a Better Business Club welcomed a familiar face on Tuesday, June 16, as Mr. Chris Okoye ’14, Catholic Central’s Director of Community Outreach and Student Engagement, presented a discussion on artificial intelligence literacy in the Board Room.

Eight students attended the session, titled “AI Literacy: From Confused and Scared to Competent and Confident,” which focused on helping students better understand artificial intelligence and how to use it effectively in academic and professional settings.

In addition to his role at Catholic Central, Okoye is a keynote speaker, AI educator, and CEO of Chinedu and Associates, where he helps organizations, educators, and students navigate the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence. He is also a published author, former professional football player, and was recently named to Oakland County’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2026.

During the presentation, Okoye discussed the importance of AI literacy, encouraging students to move beyond fear and uncertainty and instead develop the skills needed to use AI responsibly, ethically, and effectively. Students learned how artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, creating new opportunities, and becoming an increasingly valuable tool in the business world.

The presentation was hosted by Catholic Central’s Build a Better Business Club, a professional development organization designed for students interested in pursuing careers in business, entrepreneurship, or leadership. The club regularly connects students with professionals who provide real-world insights and experiences that help prepare them for future success.
