Brooks Rogowski is headed to the next level after being selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2026 NHL Draft.

The Canucks chose Rogowski with the 33rd overall pick, the first selection of the second round, making him one of the highest-drafted players to come through the Shamrocks hockey program.

"We are all very happy for Brooks. It's just such a tremendous accomplishment for him to say the least. He's very deserving (on and off the ice), and we can't wait to watch him in the next step of his hockey journey," stated Head Varsity Hockey Coach Brandon Kaleniecki '00.   

"It's an extremely proud moment for the entire program as well. To see Brooks go that high in the NHL draft is incredible and something that all of Michigan High School Hockey should celebrate, not just CC. He's just a great example of what can happen when you show up every day with a purpose, a drive, and a passion for something. The best part is he was always great with his teammates and far more concerned about the success of the team compared to his own. It's easy to root for a young man like that and give us so much pride to watch him climb higher and higher," Kaleniecki continued.   

Rogowski played hockey for Catholic Central from 2023 to 2025 before leaving for the OHL. During his time at Catholic Central, he helped the Shamrocks capture the 2023-24 MHSAA Division 1 state championship, the fifth consecutive state title for the Shamrocks. He was a key contributor on a team that continued one of the most dominant stretches in Michigan high school hockey history.

During the 2023-2024 school year, Rogowski was selected by the Oshawa Generals in the second round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Draft. He signed with the Generals later that spring and quickly earned a regular role in one of North America's top junior hockey leagues.

As an OHL rookie during the 2024-25 season, Rogowski appeared in 66 games, scoring 11 goals and adding 12 assists. He took a significant step forward this past season, recording 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in just 46 games while establishing himself as one of the Generals' top offensive players.

The 6-foot-7 center's combination of size, skill, and skating ability made him a highly regarded NHL prospect and ultimately led to hearing his name called on draft day.

Before beginning his professional career, Rogowski is expected to continue his academic and athletic career at Michigan State University, where he will further develop his game at the collegiate level.
