Catholic Central is proud to announce that Director of STEM Amy Ely has been selected as the Michigan Air & Space Forces Association’s 2025 Teacher of the Year, a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding educators who inspire the next generation through innovation and excellence in aviation and aerospace education.

Ely was chosen for the award based on the strength of her application and the impact of the programs she has helped develop and lead at Catholic Central. In particular, the Michigan AFA selection committee highlighted her commitment to expanding aviation-focused learning opportunities and creating meaningful, hands-on experiences for students.

Under Ely’s leadership, Catholic Central’s STEM initiatives have continued to grow, offering students unique exposure to aviation, engineering, and emerging technologies. Her work has helped position the school as a leader in STEM education, while also preparing students for future careers in high-demand fields.

As part of this recognition, Ely will join a network of distinguished educators and members of the Air & Space Forces Association, providing additional opportunities for collaboration and continued program development.
