6 Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Detroit Catholic Central is proud to celebrate six seniors named National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). These young men have been recognized by the College Board for scoring in the top 1% nationally on the PSAT.

David Creen, Aiden Faunt, Carson Kerr, Andrew Kil, Aidan Kinsella, and Nicholas Ventura will compete against approximately 16,000 other semifinalists across the country for 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million. Learn more about our semifinalists, including hometown, campus involvement, and reflections on their time at Catholic Central.

NMSC, a not-for-profit organization that operates without government assistance, was established in 1955 to honor the nation's scholastic champions and encourage the pursuit of excellence in academics.

This year, Catholic Central recognizes 23 total scholars across National Merit Semifinalists, National Merit Commended Students, National Achievement Scholars (Black American Scholars), and National Hispanic Recognition Program Students.
