James Piot '17 wins 2021 U.S. Amateur championship

On Sunday, August 15, 2021, James Piot '17 beat Austin Greaser, 2 and 1, in the final of the U.S. Amateur at Oakmont Country Club. 

James graduated from Catholic Central in the class of 2017 and went on to golf for Michigan State University. He is the first ever U.S. Amateur champion born in the state of Michigan and the second from a Michigan university. The U.S. Amateur tournament was first played in 1895.
