  • What was your first reaction when you heard you had been named a captain?
    • Jack: Honored to be named a leader for a competitive team and inspired to become a great leader.
    • Joey: I was very honored and humbled. I now feel like I have the responsibility to lead my team.

  • As a captain, what additional responsibility do you feel toward the team?
    • Jack: To work hardest out of anyone and show that I am a good leader.
    • Joey: I feel like I have the responsibility to encourage my teammates and to help them keep a positive attitude.

  • What are your best memories of competing for Catholic Central?
    • Jack: Playing golf in extreme weather constantly, and growing accustomed to it.
    • Joey: My best memories are traveling as a team to tournaments and playing very nice golf courses.

  • What are the most important lessons you’ve learned through competing at Catholic Central?
    • Jack: What it takes to become a leader and set a competitive standard to aim for a state championship.
    • Joey: The most important lesson would be to never give up. As a freshman, I was one of the worst golfers on the team. I never gave up, and now I am a captain. Another lesson would be to always support your teammates.

  • What advice would you give a student who is considering attending Catholic Central?
    • Jack: If you wish to be on a competitive team and win a state title, or just to be in a competitive environment academically, there is no better place to go to sharpen your skills for the rest of your life.
    • Joey: I would tell this student that all of Catholic Central’s athletics are very competitive, and the programs here help you to become great at your sport. You will grow in ways other than sports. Catholic Central’s sports programs will teach you very valuable life lessons.
