On March 2, 2021, the annual DRIVE fundraiser at Catholic Central came to a close with its final assembly where Principal, Fr. Patrick Fulton, CSB, revealed a grand total of $600,578.13 raised for tuition assistance.
As many know, the DRIVE this year was unique in that CC could not hold its traditional all-school assemblies together in the gymnasium. The student body and faculty, specifically those involved in student activities and audio/visual classes, banded together to create live streams throughout the week which were attended virtually by students in homerooms and at home each day.
Despite the new challenges, the spirit of DRIVE was stronger than ever. Hallways and homerooms were still decorated, skits were still recorded, sales challenges were still made, and ultimately the students earned 13 days off for the school.
The senior class turned in an historical performance by outselling every other class, including the freshmen, and earning their own trip to Cedar Point… or as they would call it, “Senior Point.”
“Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge” is the motto of the Basilian Fathers and the sacred mission of Catholic Central High School. For ninety years, the graduates of Catholic Central have made a positive impact locally, nationally, and around the world.
